Just been to David's leaving drink. I'd like to Thank him for setting up such interesting projects and providing opportunities to think reflect and produce work which pushes everybody to think differently. He requested that we all chip in £20 and he will continue to contribute to this blog but I'm hoping he'll find it so interesting he'll find hard to resist contributing his two penneth for free.

collaberation

Just a question about the nature of collaberation. I quite like this blog as we feel very in control and can share as much as we like. I've shared a bit of my thinking with David and Kate which is probably more than I would normally do but it feels healthy. I like the way David exists in the third space and curates the project in that contempory way I've read about but never experienced. I was just sat wondering about the way you two work together - are your ideas seemsless or do you both contribute different things? I'm thinking about my position with museum staff and visitors and wondering whether I can collaberate with them at a meaningful level and still have a clear role.

The thing about the Turner prize is that it has to make people cross -every year people get realy cross about art-I think I like this.

my picture didn't come up - any ideas from the blog experts- do you have to resize them?

the turner prize

i SO want jim lambie to win. no disco floors in the museum, unfortunately - but certainly strange birds in flight and i'm sure some sparkly handbags hidden somewhere.

i might have to go to the studio tomorrow to splash paint around just to get it out of my system. then i can get all serious and cerebral again.

damn. simon starling wins. serious and cerebral it is then.

good luck with the proposal!

Proposal

Just spent most of the day trying to write a proposal for the residency. I've done it but it was a struggle. I'm growing fonder and fonder of the idea of stating something as the third giving it great importance. Perhaps Gallilao's finger was the third finger - I remembered Gorberchovs "Third way" I really like the "third Brain" in the film "Spy Kids" as there are 3 museums I'm going to call Rotherham the "Third Residency". I've called my proposal the "Third Draft" I'm going to try and put a picture in - I took it at cannon hall - wish me luck.

Davids Visit

David came to my house yesterday and I got ehnographed by Dr Kate. My interview was great Kate recorded me and I recorded her recording me. I think my thinking must of moved on yesterday I just need a couple of days to catch up with it. David asked me to produce a proposal - I don't think he wants to marry me so I know I need to get something down - filling in this blog is merely procrastinating but I can pretend it's work. I went to see a friend yesterday who spends half the year in Kenya. He's taken to shooting and eating things in his garden. As a country boy raised on wood pigeons I thought that this was OK but he's now shooting and eating squirrils, He sits in his garden working on the laptop and if he spots anything moving he shoots it skins it and makes a pie. there is something about his assertions that this is normal bahaviour which makes me think about conversations I've had with people about been an artist. People always say "So what do you actually do"
